Overview
Every county in the US is served by an Area Agency on Aging, and Central Ohio Area Agency on Aging is responsible for the administration of these services in the following counties: Delaware, Fairfield, Fayette, Franklin, Licking, Madison, Pickaway and Union.
Title III funding covers a variety of services including meal programs, supportive services (examples below), evidence-based programs, and caregiver supports and services.
Supportive Services Include:
- Information and Referral
- In-home Care
- Home Repairs
- Transportation
- Adult Day Care
- Chore Services
COAAA awards Older Americans Act Title III funds to community organizations. Many of these organizations have other funding that allows them to provide services in addition to those listed. Waiting lists can occur for OAA services. When contacting these organizations, be sure to describe your situation so they can better meet your needs through the range of assistance available.
Eligibility
There are no financial criteria to meet to receive OAA Title III services. A voluntary donation is suggested but not required. The suggested donation is based on the self-reported income of the person receiving services. Donations are used to extend the funding available for services.
How Do I Apply?
To apply for Title III services please call COAAA or one of the community agencies funded by Title III directly.
Grievance Policy
The Central Ohio Area Agency on Aging (COAAA) has established this grievance procedure for use by older individuals who are dissatisfied with or denied any services funded through the Older Americans Act (OAA), and who are seeking a resolution of their grievances from the COAAA. The Grievance Policy can be accessed here.
