Impact Moments

"The support we’ve received through the VDC (Veteran-Directed Care) program has been truly life-changing. It has enabled my wife to be at home with me more often, allowing her to provide the daily care and companionship that are essential to my health, well-being, and independence. Thanks to this program, I’m receiving a level of care and support that I never imagined was possible or that I ever even deserved. Most importantly, I get to spend meaningful time with the person I love most. For that, I am deeply and forever grateful."

— Jeffrey, VDC Member

"I can’t say enough about the positive effects of the two support groups I have attended, including the COAAA group. I had not had to deal before with Parkinson’s and Dementia, and it is tremendously valuable to know that what I am experiencing is what other caregivers are experiencing, and to hear ideas for how to deal with the problems and complications. And it’s good to learn that the emotional struggles I have are the same as what others are going through. I’m not alone and I’m not unusual."

— Duncan, Participant in COAAA’s caregiver support groups

"I want to thank you for your worker for his fine work in helping me in intake for rent assistance. He did a great job in processing my paperwork in a timely manner. His efforts saved me from being evicted and having to go to court."

— Housing Assistance Program recipient

"You have no idea how much this is going to help me get back on track. I will be able to sleep in peace tonight for the first time in months."

— Stacy
