Overview

Next Generation MyCare is available in the 29 counties where the previous MyCare Ohio program was offered, and it will begin rolling out to all remaining Ohio counties on April 1, 2026.

Area Agencies on Aging coordinate in-home waiver services for the Next Generation MyCare Ohio program, which include personal care, transportation, home-delivered meals, homemaking, and more. COAAA currently serves as the waiver service coordination agency for the Next Generation MyCare program in five Central Ohio counties – Delaware, Franklin, Madison, Pickaway, and Union, and will cover the remaining counties in COAAA’s region after April: Fairfield, Fayette, and Licking.

COAAA coordinates these services for managed care organizations, also known as MCOs, and MCOs are the payer of MyCare services. The MCOs for COAAA’s region are Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, CareSource, and Molina Healthcare, with Buckeye Health Plan coming on in 2027.
