Overview
COAAA has created a form that collects important information about you that can be posted on the refrigerator and found by first responders in the case of emergency.
American Red Cross
The American Red Cross helps people prepare for and recover from a disaster such as house fire, flood, tornado, and more. The organization provides presentations that focus on three steps to preparedness: get a kit, make a plan and be informed.
The eight counties in COAAA’s region are served by the central and southern Ohio region of the American Red Cross. Their 24-hour disaster hotline is 1-800-REDCROSS (1-800-733-2767).
Columbus Public Health
The City of Columbus’ Department of Public Health has Ready in 3, free emergency preparedness resources, online including Planning for Emergencies booklet, Family Communications Card, and Shelter in Place Card.
More information can be found on the City of Columbus' Emergency Planning and Preparedness webpage.
Ohio Emergency Management Agency
The primary mission of the Ohio Emergency Management Agency (EMA) is to coordinate activities to mitigate, prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters. Ohio EMA works closely with local, state and federal agencies to bring recovery and support resources to Ohioans impacted by the disaster. In addition to disaster response and recovery, Ohio EMA agency activities include education, training, planning and preparedness to strengthen Ohio's first responder capabilities and improving communication across the state.
