The purpose of the Adult Foster Home
Program is to assist elderly, blind &
disabled adults who need some assistance
or supervision but do not require
skilled nursing care. Residents receive
help with personal care to remain in the
community in a safe and supervised
environment.
Adult Foster Home providers are
individuals or families with the desire
and ability to help others. Providers
share their home and family life with
either one or two residents. Being a
provider involves a commitment to
provide room, meals, accommodations and
personal care to the residents living in
the home.
Adult Foster Homes must conform to
prescribed guidelines on space,
furnishings, nutrition, safety and
cleanliness. Caregivers may have to
reconfigure their homes in order to meet
such guidelines designed to protect both
the operator and the resident.
